Miaolian hostessed for ten years and said afterward that the root was delusion, not money. Turning back does not happen overnight. It begins with lowering greed by one degree: separating need from want, dropping venues and circles one at a time, saving an exit fund, and talking to someone through an anonymous channel. In Taiwan the Taipei Women's Rescue Foundation runs an anonymous hotline and has gathered employment, training, legal, counselling and housing resources for every county.
